Chris Denny,

The Observatory Hotel-

Director

In 2004, Chris and his partner Trish established The Observatory Hotel in Port Macquarie, NSW. Under the Dennys’ guidance The Observatory became acknowledged as one of the most successful tourism sustainability pioneers in Australia and was one of very few hotels to achieve officially endorsed carbon-neutral status. The Observatory Hotel has been recognised with 65 regional, state, national and international accolades across the trifecta of triple bottom line excellence.

Peter Crogan,

Head of Customer Experience - Pica Group.

Peter Crogan joined the strata industry in 1994 in Queensland providing due diligence services to purchasers in strata title schemes. He has managed a large range of strata schemes on the Sunshine Coast including many prestige properties in Noosa. Peter has recently returned to the Sunshine Coast as Head of Customer Experience for PICA Group. Peter’s presentation will help you navigate the world of strata regulations.

Brent Clark, CEO & Founder -Wattblock

Over the past 5 years Wattblock has assisted apartment buildings housing over 50,000 residents with solar feasibility, energy efficiency and electric vehicle charging reports. Wattblock’s projects include working for Advance Queensland, NSW Dept of Planning, Industry & Environment, and North Sydney, Mosman and Woollahra councils. Brent specialises in breaking down the barriers to solar by simplifying the types suitable models.

Dr John cronin, Principal- Anumis legal & prefoessional services

Dr John holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management, a PHD in socially responsible investment, and is pursuing a further PHD in the field of superannuation law. In his earlier engineering career, he led numerous large-scale equipment design and infrastructure development projects. A former financial and investment advisor, Dr John has a wealth of experience across banking, finance and investment. Dr John explores the pros and cons of the various types of finance options available for solar.

Gillian Smith,Policy PRACTITIONER- Marcus Beach Body Corporate champion

Gillian is an experienced policy practitioner, specialising in the development and implementation of strategic and integrated policy responses. Over the years she has worked in both Australia and NZ on a range of complex policy challenges, such as water allocation, land contamination, sustainability and climate change mitigation and adaptation. Having recently taken up residence in a small shared scheme of nine, Gillian decided she’d see if she could apply her policy and technical knowledge to come up with a solar solution that would benefit all the owners...How hard could it be?!

Juanita Bloomfield, Head Of tourism & sustainability - tourism noosa, L’Auberge Noosa Body corporate champion

Juanita is Head of Tourism Sustainability and Program Design for Tourism Noosa. The primary accountability for her role is to enhance the environmental and cultural capability of Noosa’s tourism industry, which then contributes to improved environmental outcomes for the region, community and visitors. Juanita is also wearing another hat as owner of holiday apartments in a small boutique resort of 9 apartments called L’Auberge Noosa and her journey to obtain solar for the common areas of the resort.
